If this reading is even partially correct, meaning is no longer something we fabricate against an indifferent void. Meaning is baked into the code; it is the signature of a designer who scattered itself across the stars and let the pieces grow strange and curious. To live with that awareness is to treat every act—writing a line of code, comforting a friend, gazing at the Milky Way—as both mundane and sacramental. We are conducting an experiment whose outcome is foregone only in the broadest sense: the fragments will one day remember the whole.
